Code enthusiasts have found some evidence in Mac OS X 10.5.3 strings that point to a .Mac name change.
Almost everywhere ".Mac" has been replaced with %@, which means that the name of Apple's online service will be inserted programmatically by applications.
If that is not enough there is the text, "%@ is the new name of Apple's online service (was .Mac)."
It has been speculated that Apple will overhaul .Mac or perhaps form closer ties with Google as early as WWDC.
