The iPhone Dev-Team has released a new version of RedSn0w for Mac and Windows that uses the Limera1n exploit to support more devices and adds the ability to restore custom firmware ipsws.

RedSn0w will now work with the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, iPad, iPod 2G, 3G, and 4G. (Not iPod 2G-MC yet).

New Features:
● custom bootlogos for iPhone3G/iPhone3GS/iPod2G users (with qualifying bootroms)
● an option that implements the "DFU" button in PwnageTool. This button (which you can use from Windows) lets you prepare your device for a custom DFU. Even if you’re purely a Windows user, you can get a trusted friend to run PwnageTool over your IPSW to create a custom IPSW. You can now install that custom IPSW on your own Windows box, after you run this redsn0w version.

i accidently upgraded my 3gs to 4.1 using itunes, i am stuck at emergency calling mode, i tried to put the phone in dfu and then restore with the custom pwnage 4.1 does not work it gives out a message saying iphone software update server could not be contacted what to do now...Please Help

I ran RedSnow on a locked iphone4 4.1 firmware last night...It was jailbroken but no clue on how to proceed with unlock. Can anyone help Thanks

Can anyone explain plz, how it works on windows. I have to update my 3gs with customfirmware 4.1that was made on mac.with pwnage tool. Dont have mac. Plz help me. Thanks in advance

new version thet was released a few hours ago did work in 20 seconds but i have a problem now to jailbreak what am i doing wrong it must be me cus i see it works for everyone else maybe cus im in india

@ al4y, i have an iPhone 3G iOS 4.1 jailbroken using Redsnow 0.9.6b1, everything works fine except that my speaker dock no longer working with my iPhone now. i've tried with other, iPhone 4 iOS 4.1 jailbroken using GP RC4 and it works on my speaker dock..... does anyone have the same issue like mine? should i re-jailbreak my device (the 3G) with 0.9.6b2 ? to make it works on my speaker dock ? appreciate for your response
