AppleCare Protection Plans Are Now Transferable to New Products

As of 28 October 2010, customers who want to transfer their AppleCare Protection Plan (APP) coverage to a new product may do so, according to an internal Apple memo obtained by BGR.

The full memo reads:

As of 28 October 2010, customers who want to transfer their AppleCare Protection Plan (APP) coverage to a new product may do so instead of having to cancel the agreement and purchase a new one. The product originally covered by the agreement must have been purchased within the past 30 days, and the new product must be of the kind that can be covered by that agreement.

This change already applies to AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone as of 23 June 2010. It now applies to all other APP agreements as well:
AppleCare Protection Plan
AppleCare Protection Plan for iPod
AppleCare Protection Plan for iPad
AppleCare Protection Plan for Apple TV
AppleCare Protection Plan for Apple Display
