BBC to Launch International iPlayer App for the iPad

BBC is preparing to launch an international version of their iPlayer for the iPad. The app will use a single subscription pay model at launch but also offer some free content to showcase the service.

Luke Bradley-Jones, EVP and MD, BBC.com said that, "it is unlikely we will take the exclusive route over time" and "the mid-term objective is for the service to be multiplatform".

Details on pricing of the service will be announced in the New Year.
