Sanwa has released an HDMI adapter that is compatible with the iPhone 4 and iPad, according to akihabaranews.
It allows you to display videos from your device on your TV with a 720p quality, as well as pictures, presentations via Keynote, and any file Goodreader can open. Unfortunately, it doesnt work with earlier versions of iPhone or with any iPod at the moment. Measuring 53.5×53×13mm it sells for 5980 yens.
Seen them on Ebay and I can only guess it is taking analog VGA-signal and converting it to HDMI, for sure not true digital signal all the way? Is audio included in the HDMI-port?
Will it work when renting movies in iTunes? If not I rather get an Apple TV 2 and use the hack for Airplay.
