Some users have reported freezing issues with FaceTime video chat on their iPad 2, requiring a restart of the device, according to an AppleInsider report.
Several threads on the Apple support forums describe a problem where the image displayed by the front camera on the iPad 2 crashes. A reboot is usually required to fix the issue.
"It happens quite frequently," said user leov36. "Restarting the ipad fixes the problem, BUT, it happens again with in the next two to three times i go to use it."
"When I opened up FaceTime the first time, the camera was working fine, but now whenever I open it up, it just shows a still image from when I left," user "CRK The Man" wrote. "How can I fix it?"
Another users (dels7080) notes that the manager of the 68th St NYC Verizon store said it has happened to a lot of his floor units as well. So far we haven't experienced the issue with our unit; however, let us know if your experience differs.

I had 1 (ONLY 1) crash, so maybe an anomaly. I'm using an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3.

I'm getting that same problem on my iphone 4. At times I open up FaceTime and surprised to see a still image of my last video chat. It often require that I restart my device..!
I was hoping they'd fix this in fw4.3.1

This happens to me all the time the picture will freeze from my previous FaceTime and every time I go back to FaceTime it will still be stuck there, even if I close out the app for days and the only solution is to restart ;( thought it was just me
