O2 Sold Out of Pre-Order 3G iPhones

This morning O2 offered online customers the ability to pre-order an iPhone online, in order to have it delivered to their home on the 11th.
O2 is now saying that the "due to the huge demand for the iPhone 3G, it's currently out of stock online."
Purchasing an iPhone online required a 18-month contract, a credit check, and direct debit. This ordering method seems to be only available in the UK as Apple has indicated there will be no online sales in the USA.
