Ringbow Uses a Ring to Control Touch Screen Devices

Ringbow is a ring-mounted wireless device that lets you better control your wireless device.

CNET got a demo of the device from Ringbow CEO Efrat Barit who suggests that software vendors who make complex apps could make their apps easier and faster to use for professionals by using the ring.

The Ringbow does solve a problem in an elegant way. Touch-screen apps generally have only limited ways to control them, so access to menu commands or secondary functions requires trips to full menus, which slows down the user. The Ringbow is a finger-mounted five-way controller (four compass directions plus pushing down) that makes blasting through accessory menus faster than it would be in most apps.

Take a look at the video below where selecting drawing submenu options is demonstrated using the Ringbow. Note the wire is only for the prototype.

This would be pretty useful for some professionals... Obviously I wouldn't use it just for leisure activities, but I'd consider using this at work for efficiency.

I'm not sure we need devices like these or stylus pens for touchscreens. I think using touch controls is more efficient.
