The BoyGeniusReport has discovered that Apple is already testing the 2.0.1 iPhone Firmware after examining their web server logs.
Needless to say, over the last few days, we have noticed some interesting build numbers for the iPhone and iPhone 3G. It appears that AT&T and Apple are testing iPhone device software version 2.0.1, builds 5B101 (iPhone) and 5B103 (iPhone 3G). Although we are not certain of much more information than this little bit, we do know that testing began prior to the launch of device software 2.0 and the iPhone 3G on July 11th. We have also narrowed down the known test users to the San Francisco (40 mins from Cupertino) and Atlanta (HQ of AT&T Mobility) areas. Hmm.
Hopefully this will fix the "contact slowdown". The 3G is my first iPhone, but even with the old 1.4 iPod Touch Firmware the contacts were alot faster. Now when I click on the contacts my iPod Touch and iPhone seems to sit there and "think" "hmm what the hell am I supposed to do... *2-3seconds pass* ohh yeah I remember now - list those 123 contacts of my master.... "
Thanks to George Holtz. I'm sure he leacked the exploit to them. A new challenge is always welcome, but not BEFORE you can actually show and distribute what you achieved. *shaking my head*
