The speed tests were lame. They appeared to be about the same, and there were too many uncontrolled variables (like image file size), carrier connectivity, etc... What makes the iPhone better IMHO is that it doesn't matter if the recipient has an iPhone or not, it will send a message through SMS if needed to get there. This makes it worthwhile.

Yep. Cos' now I have SMS and whatsapp - two different messaging software. And sometimes it's difficult to remember where is particular conversation!
