Firecore has announced that aTV Flash (black) Beta 6 is now available with huge improvements in Apple TV playback performance.
Beta6 includes huge improvements in playback performance that come by way of a brand brand-new, lightweight player that has been built from the ground up specifically for iOS. This new player empowers your AppleTV to play a wide variety of media formats without having to sacrifice the simplicity of the native AppleTV interface.

Sorry to say this as i love the work these guys are doing but this release is shocking , my 720mkv. files 3/4 dont even start and all work with xbmc player flawless (and after xbmc latest update its amazing)
But its stil beta and ill still give them my money if they tick all the boxes.
Flash on ATV2 id give them 2 payments.
The price for aTV Flash (black) is *not* $39.95 as this article states.
The pre-order sale price is $19.95, which gets you instant access to the beta, and a year's worth of updates. FIrecore says the final version will be available Summer 2011, at which point the price will rise to $29.95.
