Google Books is back in the App Store without the button to buy books.
Amazon and Kobo have also updated their apps to remove the buy button and the WSJ says an update to their app is coming as well.
It seems Apple is now enforcing a rule that requires all apps on the App Store to sell their wares through in-app purchases or not at all.
