Test Out Windows Phone on Your Own iPhone or Android Device

Test Out Windows Phone on Your Own iPhone or Android Device

Posted November 29, 2011 at 6:15pm by iClarified
Microsoft has created a way for iOS and Android users to test out Windows Phone from their own device.

All you have to do is navigate to http://aka.ms/wpdemo in your browser and you'll get an interactive introduction to Windows Phone 7.5.

We took a couple screenshots of how it looks on the iPhone. Check them out below...

I'll take up for WP7, and also mention why I strayed away from it after using it for a while now. WP7 is a very smooth, and seamless OS. I currently use an iPad2 and a Sony Xperia Play. WP7 is by no means anything most people would ever expect from Microsoft. It works great, I never had it lock up or freeze, nor did I ever shut it down the entire time I used it. The apps it has are very seamless, smooth and responsive. No slowdowns anywhere. The bad part, is it is locked down tighter than anything on the market. I like my freedom, I like to tinker with things. I could simply read the news, facebook, music, videos and the phone bits worked great. The few games it does have work great as well. Just not enough of them in the market yet. Microsoft simply does not have the marketing strategy that Apple has, and is staying behind in the app market. I'm not sure they will ever catch up in that aspect. I recently switched to the Xperia phone, because touch screens really suck for action games. I also enjoy my iPad2, and enjoy reading the main pages of this site, but wow some of the fans can be truly brutal to other brands in their comments.

This is a very cool way of trying another OS. Great idea. I like this OS also. I have been using OS7 and metro in dreamboard for a while and find them to be my favorite iPhone themes. However, I would only like this OS on the iPhone. Sorry WP, thought you had a friend. Lol

Just such a horrible OS I mean the actual OS is much better than the demo but before seeing windows phone OS I didn't think any phone OS could get much worse than android (I was proven wrong). And they said that basic IOS was limited lol I use an iPhone 4 (T-mobile USA) and even basic iOS (not jailbroken) is by far much better than windows phone OS, even android is better (wow actually something good about android for once) *before you write something about "wtf are you talking about, android is awesome" or something stupid, think for a second. You are using android, point?, wtf are you doing is apple/idevice forums in the first place?*

It works well for me. It's very nice and slick - but it's not going to tempt me away from the iPhone
