Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt declared 'Android is ahead of the iPhone now' at the LeWeb conference, according to CNET.
He made his statement to a room bursting at the seams with iPhones, iPads, and Macs, and the audience met his words with a moment of silence that implied some skepticism. So Schmidt elaborated on how he was measuring: "unit volume, Ice Cream Sandwich, the price is lower, there are more vendors."
"Ultimately, application vendors are driven by volume, and volume is favored by the open approach Google is taking," Schmidt said. "There are so many manufacturers working so hard to distribute Android phones globally that whether you like ICS or not--and again I like it a great deal--you will want to develop for that platform, and perhaps even first."
I think androids are for more geeky computer guys as u can control and customise ur system more while iphones are just for normal users who just want to listen to music and play games.....i have an iphone and my cousin is the geeky android user :S
Its like Bill Gates telling us that Microsoft is leading Apple in the PC business.
Who cares ...I love my iphone and Im NOT switching to a virus infested un upgradable second rate device....sorry ERIC
If you look for sale by smartphone model the first place is for iPhone 4 and the second is for iPhone 3GS.
If you look for satisfaction angle 84% of the users are happy with iOS and intend to buy another iPhone when just 60% are satisfied with Android and intend to buy another cellphone with it.
And the iPhone 4S' acceptance is being greater than the iphone 4's.
I don't know why is he thinking this way??
It's still comparing apples to oranges (pun intended). One OS from a single company on three devices versus one OS on dozens of devices from dozens of companies. It takes dozens to do what one has done.
