Apple's new Siri voice assistant is causing iPhone 4S owners to use almost twice as much data as iPhone 4 owners, according to network firm Arieso.
The firm, based in Atlanta, said it measured more than data from more than 1 million subscribers across a single European network in both urban and rural areas. Their research showed that about 1% of high-use subscribers downloaded half of the data volumes.
In an interview in London, Arieso Chief Technology Officer Michael Flanagan said, "Voice is the ultimate human interface." Flanagan notes that voice recognition is prompting consumers to use their smartphones' functions more often.
In comparison to the iPhone 4S, BlackBerry owners download about 20% of the data volume.

Well if we can't make calls because of the malfunctioning iPhones 4S, we just have to write more emails :)
