Apple is reportedly looking into building a new retail store in Queens, its seventh store within New York City, reports the NY Daily News.
A real estate developer is in preliminary talks with Apple about opening one of the brand's iconic stores on bustling Austin St. in Forest Hills. Heskel Group Chairman Yeheskel Elias said if a deal is reached, the sleek store could open in as little as a year.
A Queens store would mark only the second retail location outside of Manhatten, the other being in Staten Island.
"I will do anything I can to bring Apple in," Elias said. "Queens has to have an Apple store." "It would really become a retail center for customers that don't have to go all the way to Manhattan or to Long Island to enjoy the Apple experience," Elias said.
