CNN talks to a Foxconn employee and shows her the iPad she helps build for the first time.

The woman works installing iPad screens at a factory in Chengdu and describes what it's like working there.

"They use women as men and they use men as machines. There is another way of saying it. They use women as men and they use men as animals."

Take a look below...

Thanks for the great post. Very good ootarvesibn. One minor flaw, as a Chinese of post-85 generation, I can safely say that made-in-China is never a factor when we purchase a piece of consumer electronics as we are aware that most of the major consumer electronics products are assembled in South East Asia. There's not a single trace of national pride in purchasing an iphone assembled in Guangdong.

If chinese Govt has decided to treat their own ppl like animal and make product with cheap labor and attract foreign investors, then its their problem, they are making mess all over the world, so many industries worldwide shutdown as they can't compete with china, and china has edge of $1/hour labor, this is the thing which makes big companies move to china, why to complaint Apple for that, Apple is getting these products cheap but they are paying their direct employees (Their Own PPL) handsome salaries to run the company they are saving from production cost and paying in administrative and selling expenses, stop blaming Apple, Chinese PPL deserves this, these cheap labors took the bread out of mouth from millions of PPL from third world because the factories in which they worked shutdown because of Chinese competition, I wish Chinese go to hell like this everyday. Chinese PPL i have no sympathy with you, you deserves this you earned this brutality.

This is just plain stupid. They are only targeting Foxconn because it is the biggest consumer manufacturing company. It is a fact that they are actually treating their workers the best and paying them the most compared to other manufacturing companies in China. They are only reporting suicides from Foxconn because it is the biggest consumer manufacturing company. Foxconn actually has one of the lowest suicide rates compared to other manufacturing companies in China. Why not go and write articles on the other manufacturers? My friends who come from China all say that Foxconn is actually good compared to what happens in other manufacturers and everything thats happening in Foxconn is just a stir up. So the reports and the reporters who just want to stir up sh*t can go F themselves.
