A wanted ad has appeared on Craigslist from a developer who is supposedly willing to legally change his name in order to purchase a WWDC ticket.
In what can only be described as a horribly stupid decision, Apple put tickets for WWDC on sale at 5:30am PDT this year. They were sold out by 7:30am. Most west coast developers were still asleep.
To make matters worse, Apple is saying that tickets are not transferable. Thus the ad below...
--- WWDC tickets are non transferable this year, so naturally I'm willin to legally change my name to yours in order to buy your ticket. To sweeten the deal I will perform the following duties on your behalf for one year: - Jury duty - DMV license/registration - Any of your court ordered community service up to 40 hours - Visit your senile grandfather once a month
If your name happens to be Jebodiah there is an extra $500 bonus. Thanks! ---
This may be a joke but it's sad that many developers weren't even given a chance to purchase tickets for the event.
He can have my ticket, legally change his name to mine, then have access to my 401k, mutual funds, bank accounts, credit cards, & sell my house for me. Sound like an even trade?
Yes, I was being sarcastic, however, there's practically nothing stopping from applying for a lost SS# card (no pic on it), sent to his address, which he can then use. Not as simple as that of course, otherwise every John Smith can rip off the other, but certainly makes it easier.
