Reality Distortion. Google Joanna Hoffmann's video from the early days when she tears into Steve Jobs.

I'm sick of hearing this whining about "oh no! I can't upgrade."
I would cry, too, but DOODZ, they're giving us 8GB of RAM, which is more than most people will EVER use. And the upgrade to 16GB is CHEAP.
$200 for 8 more gigs!? That's NOT much $ for what you get! Be honest. Apple doesn't do much overpricing anymore. I do stuff with virtualization, so I did order the 16GB and that you won't need to upgrade to what, 32GB? Yea, right. You won't need an upgrade until WAY after this MacBook Pro will be in a museum + 10 years after that.
And a 256GB ATA III 6Gbps SSD with two Thunderbolt ports? On the so-called lower-end model? Jeez...Again, the upgrade to 512GB is cheap, albeit, granted, they unfortunately don't offer that upgrade on the lower end model. Again, though: Who cares? That will be my biggest SSD I've ever owned and even now, most BTO sites refer to them as hard drives! And when I talk to my non-geek friends, they still think I'm mumbling about some sexually transmitted disease half the time.
Grow up, stop complaining about your First World problems and enjoy the baddest damn display on the PLANET!
(P.S.: It's even got IPS! No more crappy TN screens)

Just read the Wired article regarding the ifixit tear down. Yay! Soldered on RAM and storage! Can you say no upgrades ever?!? It's not a MacBook Pro, it's a Retina MacBook Air, just not as thin.
...thanks for helping the environment through easy recycling too--glass glued on?!? Nice.
