Apple is planning to give a presentation at the Black Hat security conference for the very first time, reports Bloomberg.

Apple, now the world's most valuable company, has had no problem snubbing a community whose aim is to unearth its vulnerabilities. That will change Thursday when Dallas De Atley, manager of Apple's platform security team, is scheduled to give a presentation on key security technologies within iOS, the operating system for iPhones and iPads.

Black Hat's general manager Trey Ford notes that this is the first time Apple will be on stage at Black Hat or DefCon. This comes as OS X has been more frequently targeted by hackers due to its increased popularity.

Notably, Apple was schedule to give a talk about their security response team in 2008 but marketing got wind of it and quickly canceled the appearance.

"Bottom line - no one at Apple speaks without marketing approval," Ford wrote in an e-mail. "Apple will be at Black Hat 2012, and marketing is on board."
