FireCore has announced the release of aTV Flash 4.5 for the original Apple TV.
aTV Flash 4.5 for the 1st generation (silver) Apple TV is now available. Version 4.5 includes support for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) as well as a handful of general improvements and fixes. We're also still working on a number of additional features for the 1st gen models and plan to have additional updates available soon.

I still use mine to run Boxee and XBMC. It's far less noicy than my old box of a pc. I hope this update makes it less memoryhogging.

Sounds nice, but it's been a LONG time since Apple's sold the 1st gen Apple TV, and most people have stopped using them out of frustration since. No reason they couldn't have done this with the 2nd gen (already jailbroken), or tried to get the 3rd gen jailbroken (or at least ask!).
