Ship dates for iPhone 5 pre-orders slipped to two weeks away just one hour after pre-orders began.
Last year, the first batch of iPhone 4S devices sold out after about a day of pre-orders. Either supplies of the iPhone 5 are less or its selling incredibly well.
We'd recommend ordering yours as soon as possible before shipping times slip farther. You can pre-order at the link below. If you would still like to pre-order a unit for launch day you might try Walmart or your carrier.

I placed my order around 2am. the website already estimated 2wk. And it was confirmed at 5am this morning that it will ship Oct 5th.
I am really hoping that is an internal error because just now when I tried to check the order (to cancel it and wait in line), I got an error message saying something went wrong with my request from the website.

I find it hard to believe that they sold out in one hour, especially given the time at which ordering started (when most people are in bed).

I am from UAE, i didn't sleep for the whole day. just checking apple store every 5 minutes and waiting to open the pre orders in Apple UK online store and I caught it once they open it and ordered two iPhone 5s.
So imagine what about the others?

I'm waiting for the nokia lumia 920, iphone 5 look good but not enuff to wow me. Who care apple app store is big? How many apps you have on the phone? Iphone is just overuse by it popularity not everyone use for the need of the phone. I like iphone too but I just want to experience new window 8 imma just get both ip5 n nokia to see which one i like better
