Use this adapter to connect an iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector to a micro USB cable to sync and charge, or to a compatible micro USB charger to charge your device.
The adapter was previously available to Europeans only. It sells for $19.00.

This adapter available in Europe before the U.S.? W.T.F. gives here??? Apple can't get away with stuff like this anymore being that its products are responsible for the world becoming a smaller and smaller place. Tsk. Tsk.

I believe that the EU demands uniformity with Micro USB for all GMS devices, hence Apple's early release there.
