A top Samsung executive says the company has no plans to settle with Apple, reports the AFP.
The statement comes following Apple's announcement that it reached a settlement with HTC.
"We have no such intention," J.K. Shin, the head of Samsung Electronics' mobile unit, told reporters on Wednesday when asked if Samsung would seek a similar settlement.
Samsung -- the world's top mobile and smartphone maker -- was ordered by a US jury in August to pay Apple $1.05 billion in damages for illegally copying iPhone and iPad features for its flagship Galaxy S smartphones. It has appealed the ruling. Since then, two separate rulings by courts in Japan and the Netherlands have dismissed Apple's claims of patent infringement.
Samsung more than doubled Apple in smartphone shipments for 3Q12, according to an IDC study.
Sure samshit sold more phones than apple. But not because of how good that shitty phone is but because the iphone 5 is so hard to get due to its availability.
Samsung copied some feature like Apple does, nobody is perfect! Also the website you listed, is completely ignorance because that person think apple is the king or superior, the fact apple is claim stuff from developer as its own. It is completely wrong!!!
Its clear that court was favoring applee which is stupid. How come all other courts in the world say Samsung didnt copy but USS court? ROFL. More over now applee have to pay hell lots money to other companies for using their patents. ROFL.
It's too bad really. I like both companies and Apple is already having to pay a whopping 20% more for all of its displays that it buys from Samsung! The price hike is solely for Apple. A vengeful gesture, which I can sort of understand.
Samsung also makes most SSD's (solid state drives), which Apple calls "Flash storage" a lot of the time. Tons of various chips that Apple puts into its products come from Samsung as well.
I hope it won't hurt or slow down Apple's products and innovation.
Apple's innovation is dead, their products are just the same, a little bigger or smaller with minor upgrades.
if thats innovation, god bless us in the future.
