Amazon and Monoprice are both selling offering Lightning USB cables for the latest generation iOS devices, notes MacRumors.
Amazon is selling its 3 Feet/0.9 Meter cable for $14.99.
Monoprice does not have its cables in stock yet; however, is listing a March availability for a 3ft, 3ft slimfit, and 6ft cable. Pricing is $11.77, $12.73 and $12.56, respectively.
Amazon Germany is evil: They mistreat temporary workers, avoid to pay social insurance contributions and tax and even use Neo-Nazis (via 3rd party security companies) to intimidate the temp workers...
Boycott Amazon!
I glad to see the price of these things coming down but I'm worried that there might not be enough profit margin for apple after all it must cost at least 5 cents to manufacture these cables, how will Apple maintain their profitability?
The aftermarket ones that are sold on eBay do not last long, I've gone through 3 of them in about 5 weeks. the connecters are loose, and after use they stop charging completely or need to be manipulated to continue charging. Rather just buy a reputable brand if not OE at apple and save the hassle and headache.
Monoprice is the most trusted website on the web.
Top notch service ,I bought tons of items from them
Quick service reasonable price. From their case and Protectors HDMI 3D..
But I just bought 4 Usb cables on ebay for $12 shipped they work awesome
In my opinion that's why you should always buy certified apple products and accessories or from trusted suppliers and sites. Like monoprice. It's always nice to save money, but in the long run if you Buy a cheap product it might come back to bite you in the ass and cost you more money in the end when you have to replace your device. It personly happened to me with my iPhone 4S. I bought a cheap, non certified wall and car charger and it totally screwed up the screen. After a month of using them it basically rendered my phone useless. Screwed up the digitizer so bad that at first when you touched the screen it would jump all over the place and open stuff by itself, them it stopped working completely. I learned my lesson. The way I look at it is if you can put up hundreds to thousands of dollars for a device you can spend 15-30 bucks on a accessory. Same goes with a car. You spend 20,000 or even 50,000 on a car are you going to put crappy low grade gas in it just to save a buck or two? Nope. Sorry for my rant. I blame it on the Vicodins i just took. Anyway. Just trying to look out for people and their products.
