Google has released Earth 5 (Beta), the most recent update to their highly successful satellite mapping technology.

Google Earth lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean. You can explore rich geographical content, save your toured places, and share with others.

Google Earth 5 (Beta) allows users to take placemarks a step further and record a free-form tour in Google Earth. Simply turn on the touring feature, press record, and see the world. You can even add a soundtrack or narration to personalize the journey.

Google Earth 5 (Beta) New Features:
- Dive beneath the surface and visit the deepest part of the ocean, the Mariana Trench
- Explore the ocean with top marine experts including National Geographic and BBC
- Learn about ocean observations, climate change, and endangered species
- Discover new places including surf, dive, and travel hot spots and shipwrecks
