SHAPE Services has announced the availability of its best selling cross-platform application IM+ for Skype in the App Store on iPhone.

IM+ for Skype enables text chat and cost-effective calls to Skype contacts and to any phone numbers. Reliable callback technology is used for calls thus providing best phone call quality with no extra delays and latency typical for VoIP.

IM+ for Skype is available in App Store on iPhone under the Social Networking category.

"Commercially released as web service s4iphone.com in 2007, IM+ for Skype became the first application enabling Skype functionality on iPhone and iPod Touch," says Igor Berezovsky, CEO of SHAPE Services. "In response to numerous requests from users to enable IM+ for Skype as native iPhone application, we are happy to release it in the App Store."

IM+ for Skype is fully compatible with Skype calling plans such as Skype Unlimited or Skype Pro thus making possible significant savings on mobile communication including long distance calls.

Thanks for the heads up on this App, however, it wouldn't be bad to include some user reviews, which for now are giving this app an extremely poor rating. It's $9.99, and doesn't seem to work well at all. Also, Shape Services seems to be saying, yes, you've wanted it, and now we've finally provided it. At least two other Apps have provided this first (Fring and Nimbuzz), and Nimbuzz works perfectly. Better yet, Nimbuzz is $9.99 cheaper, which is free. I highly recommend Nimbuzz, and quite honestly, IM+ has never been a good app (even back to the WM days).
