Check out this side by side comparison of the iPhone 5 and HTC One cameras posted by iMore.
The iPhone 5 features an 8MP camera with a f/2.5 aperture and a 1/3.2-inch sensor giving each pixel a size of 1.4 micrometers. The HTC One has a 4MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a 1/3.2-inch sensor giving each pixel a size of 2 micrometers.
As you can see in the samples below the iPhone 5 generally outperforms the HTC One camera in daylight situations; however the HTC One does better in low light conditions due its larger pixels and wider aperture.
We've posted some of the comparison images below. The iPhone 5 is on the left and the HTC One is on the right. A full gallery of comparison photos can be found at the link below.
The pictures appear to be zoomed in with the iPhone 5 because the hTC One has a wide angle lens and so it captures a wider view than the iPhone 5, and thus objects appear a little more distant on the hTC One.
Both pictures were taken at the same position.
Iphone has an very nice camera in daylight and lighter conditions.. In lowlight iphone is useless..htc was ok in daylight but in darker the one killed .. Respect.. But ill stick to the iphone due that soo many killerapps houses on appstore and dont want phabletts...
Camera phones will never be worth anything untill they drop a CMOS sensor in them. Till that day i will never trust a camera phone. No matter what the resolution is wayyyy to low.
dual front speakers I've always said why put a speaker on the bottom of a phone like others do !
apple should follow here !
I'm also glad apple got the ear phone jack right ! On the bottom where it belongs Now Apple give me front dual speakers so I could watch and listen without putting my phone in awkward positions to watch youtubes ,Etc. I don't want to Handcup my speaker to hear sound
Its not to say Apple put their speakers on the back of the device like so many others did & continue to do. HTC you could say (& most would) that they one up'ed Apple by putting them on the front.
It's a phone, if I want excellent pics I buy a good camera. My iPhone has been t good no issues. All my apple products working no issues, all windows and android in boxes in garage .
If you are looking only for a phone go with Nokia V-G2300! Its smart phone man ... we all looking for best features.. camera is a must have and obviously picture quality matters...
I'm an ardent iphone user and apple fan. But as a photographer I can tell that HTC outperforms iphone in all the pictures. Notice the over-exposed sky in the first photo. And the brightly colour processed photos of the flowers. HTC photos are more natural, and of-course the night photos are better. Simply because of a better lens and wider aperture.
Personally I really like the Htc one camera, I find myself opting to use that to take a picture much more than I do my iPhone 5 even though I use my iPhone 5 as my main phone and my Htc one on my secondary line. But it really does come down to the lighting and contrast that the lens is able to produce. I have taken some terrible pictures with the Htc one though, but generally all others were great. I've had my Htc one since Friday and have no complaints about it, but I do still prefer my iPhone over it still only because its more customizable (jailbroken of coarse) whereas android not. But overall a very sick and amazing phone:D
