Samsung is in talks with the EU to settle charges that it abused its market position by prevent Apple from using a standards essential patent, reports Reuters.
The European Commission has told Samsung that it is unfairly seeking injunctions against Apple based on the use of essential patents.
"Samsung has been involved in settlement discussions for several months now. Samsung wants to settle," said a source.
It's too early to determine if a settlement will be reached. If it is, Samsung could avoid a finding of wrong doing and a large fine which could reach up to $17.3 billion.

For that much they could give away their piece of crap phones for free and increase their market share dramatically. This is exactly what the investment media wants! Win win for all.
