Display panel orders suggest that Apple expects to sell more the iPhone 5c than the iPhone 5s, reports DigiTimes.
According to the site, suppliers are expected to ship 10-15 million iPhone 5s panels in the third quarter with Sharp filling 7 million units. LG and Japan Display will reportedly be responsible for the rest of the units. In the fourth quarter, suppliers are expected to ship more than 20 million panels for the iPhone 5s.
In terms of the iPhone 5c, Japan Display will land more than half of the panel orders throughout 2013, with Sharp expected to pick up more than half of the remaining portion while LG Display will be responsible for the remaining orders, the sources said. Panel orders for the iPhone 5c are expected to surpass 30 million units in the fourth quarter, the sources said.
Notably, those estimates suggest that Apple expects to sell 50% more iPhone 5c devices than iPhone 5s devices.
Apple expect to sell millions of the 5c and its places as a cheaper smart phone, but its not cheap that's for sure ! Wonder what went wrong or does apple not understand the opportunity they are missing with the younger people that they could have created a cheaper entry level apple phone that would have a big majority of them become loyal to apple brand for life ... Not clever marketing apple you missed if totally !!!

It's an interesting experiment, so see if using cheap plastic components to knock of a few dollars off an iPhone will make it competitive with Samsung. I doubt it though. People pay extra for an iPhone because of the quality. Anyone who wants something cheap will already OWN an Android device!
I know, right? But still, I expected a bigger price difference between the two phones... $100 doesn't seem like a big enough price gap considering the VERY different look of the two phones... a plasticky thing, and a more refined thing. I was thinking that in the future I'd go for the cheaper model because i don't care about looks that much, but for that small difference I'll probably just go with the top of the line.
I would buy the iPhone 5c If it was retail 400 - 350. Don't the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5 have the same spec? While iPhone 5s has a7 chip and better camera ? Buying iPhone 5c isn't worth it of the iPhone 5 and c both the same?
iPhone 5c is about £469 and iPhone 5s is £530 there is not much difference in price I don't think iPhone c will do well unless they drop the price to £300 or sumting!
