to use skype you have to pay 35 pounds a year to buy a online number i thought i could use wi fi to phone a contact in my iphone adress book but no way you have to pay plus you have to buy minuted too why would i do that my iphone is on a contract with inclusive minutes anyway
Just needs to let you check your voicemail too.
Since you can't receive calls when app. is closed, It would be nice to see who called you while you are away from your actual phone/skype on computer.
Jip..crashes even when not started, displays skype starting page and than goes off!
I just wondering is this conected with my new safari crash which appered yestrday!
Safari stops working on every internet page which has login page , entering username works, when try to enter pasword it stops!
same here .... not very good start at all, but hopefully, in short time it will work ... i need to call the PM of Guatemala and he uses only Skype, not to mention the President of Zimbabwe, or the Broker from Japan ... :P
I got a warning to update to 2.2 on a 2.1JB 3G. I have been able to log in but no luck making calls yet. Whole phone freezes up having to resort to the 2 button reset. Not a good start for such a long awaited app but I'm sure they'll sort it out. Just happy to finally have skype.
installed on first gen iphone jailbroken running last firmware 2.2 but noway it crashes all the time I try to put in my login data .... really a bad start for skype ... already deleted from my springboard ...
Just installed ok, made a test call .. BIG problem, the phone goes into sleep mode and turns the application off, second attempt it crashed before it went into sleep mode
I downloaded it on my 1st get iPhone running with 2.2 firmware but it's always crush when I try to put the username and pass.
I re-install it again and again and also reboot iPhone but same result.

On CBC news's website:
Chaim Haas, a public relations representative acting on behalf of Skype, said the application is available in every country in which the iPhone is on sale and in which Apple has an iTunes Store with the exception of Canada.
Haas said this is because of patent-licence restrictions but would not elaborate except to specify that it is a patent issue related to Skype, not Apple
