As of today nearly one billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store. Apple is launching a promotional giveaway to mark the occasion. For every app downloaded between now and a billion you will automatically be entered for a chance to win.

As of today, nearly one billion apps have been downloaded around the globe. So we just want to say thanks — a billion. Download an app and you’ll automatically get the chance to win a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule, and a MacBook Pro. according to the official rules, and contrary to popular belief, every downloaded app/submitted form doesn't give you a chance. You only win if you are the 1 billionth app download/submitted form , under #5 of official rules.
