Target is offering an in-store trade-in promotion that guarantees $200 for any iPad in acceptable condition, including the 16GB Wi-Fi first generation iPad, notes MacRumors. Normally, the company only offers $65 for this device on trade-in.
To be eligible, the iPad must power on and screen must not be scratched.
----- Between November 3rd thru 9th visit your local Target Mobility store and trade in any iPad for at least $200 to use towards the purchase of a new iPad.
To take advantage of this offer simply follow the below steps: Step 1: Find your local Target mobility store by clicking here. Step 2: Your device will be appraised in-store at the mobility kiosk. Step 3: $200 minimum promotional credit will be issued on a Target Trade-In Gift Card and is redeemable in any Target store. -----
Notably, some stores are not requiring the purchase of a new iPad with the gift card. Indicating that you would like to wait for the Retina Display iPad mini has also worked for some customers.

Offer is BS. "AT LEAST" means minimum. I got an online quote on Targettradeinprogram.com and my orignal iPad in perfect condition was only $65. This is a bait and switch offer.

I was able to trade my old 16GB iPad 1 yesterday night.
It was a simple and fast process. I have the $200 gift card in my wallet

the promotion was intended for in-store trades only. if you go check online again, the offer of 65 has dropped to 53.

My local store would not give a gift card. In order to get the $200, you were required to buy a new iPad on the spot. When I pointed out that the website said you would get a gift card, the representative said "Target Mobile is not Target." Store management repeated the same mantra. No satisfaction!
I think Target is off my list as a store to visit for a while.

All arbitragers out there should buy up all first gen iPads (in acceptable condition) on eBay and bring them to Target. Then sell the iPad Airs that you bought at a discount on eBay.

Got $200 for my daughters 1st Gen wifi iPad. Can't beat that! Got her a mini for $100 more plus they have me. $25 gift card. Used it for a case. Really good deal if you held onto your 1st gen.

I just traded in my 1st gen iPad and received a $200.00 gift card for Target. It's definitely worth doing it if you have a 1st or 2nd gen iPad. I'm going back again tomorrow to trade in another. You just can't beat it.

Yeah well I could prolly get $300 on eBay so that's a lot to leave on the table for convenience.

Apparently it's not a minimum of 200, its 200. Either the girl I spoke with got no clue on what she's talking about or my ipad 3 32gb with LTE worth the same as iPad 1st gen 16gb wifi

the 1st and 2nd generation ipads are likely to benefit more from this deal.
