Instagram Sends Out Invites to December 12th Press Event

Instagram has sent out invites to a December 12th press event at which it will presumably announce a new feature for the service, reports CNET.

The package, wrapped with brown paper and a white ribbon, contained a wooden block, 4 inches long and wide and 1.75 inches thick, covered with a printed Instagram shot and a slot in the back so it can be hung on the wall. The included note invited the press to "share a moment with Kevin Systrom and the Instagram team." The event will kick off at 10 a.m. on December 12 in Midtown Manhattan.

Previously reports suggest the app could get private messages capabilities; however, CNET believes the invite itself suggests that perhaps Instagram will announce a service that would allow users to print their photos.

Billion-dollar company and they can't make a native version of the app for the iPad... I mean I love this app but I hate that the app is blurry on the iPad because you have to use the two times zoom 2x it just look's not as good when zoomed in! But about the rumor of the option to print these pictures... If I'm right n I know I am the pics are uploaded at lower resolutions then your cam can do! they don't go full resolution why would you want to print a picture from Instagram their incredibly low resolution pictures! But then again they might be changing that like they did with Google (Full resolution uploads) I would love this app if it was native for iPad and it had full resolution upload as well as video too? I guess asking for video too is asking too much right now but why not ask lol
