1200 iPod Knockoffs Given Out at Economic Forum, Apple to Sue

1200 iPod knockoffs were distributed to guests at the Swiss Economic Forums which included Adrian Schmucki, the head of Apple Switzerland. The devices were really Chinese imitations meant to look similar to the second generation iPod shuffle.

After Schmucki received his, he threatened legal action against the insurance company Mobiliar who handed out the gifts. To make matters worse several of the guests asked Schmucki if the knockoffs would work with iTunes.

They gave away one that looks pretty much like this one at the AAOS meeting in Las Vegas in February along with a literature package that was purchased. Mine didn't work. Sent it back and the second one didn't work either.

Why would apple warranty a copy of their product that their competitor is selling? They wouldn't
