Samsung Calls iPhone Users 'Wall Huggers' In New Ad [Video]

Posted July 3, 2014 at 5:31pm by
Samsung has released a new ad for the Galaxy S5 that mocks iPhone users, calling them 'wall huggers'.

That moment when your phone conveniently chooses the most inconvenient time to run low on juice. Switch your Galaxy S 5 to Ultra Power Saving Mode or swap in a fresh spare battery and say goodbye to the wall huggers for good.

Take a look at the ad below...

Stupid pitterpatter aside, anyone know what normal operating time is on a 5s vs S5?

so the fact that an iphone 5s charges in a 4th of the time of the s3 does not make a difference(actual fact)?

For me only my friends that have an s3 s4 s5 or note ask me if they can charge their phone in my car when I give them rides. My 5S usually last the entire day and I use a lot of data. So not sure how this ad is at all relevant. Samsung just has no shame and hits low even if there isn't anything there to hit.

I've heard mostly bad things about the iPhones' battery. My sister has the 4s, and her battery doesn't hold much of a charge anymore. Neither does my friends' iPhone 5. When I had my Galaxy S3, I didn't have a problem with battery life. Even if I did, I could just swap it out for a new one.

Best of both worlds? I have jailbreak iPhone 5 with free hot spot. Waiting for i6. Also, Galaxy Note 3 which is great for movies and taking pictures Waiting for the note 4. Maybe pull the trigger on the Fire after I can use one. I have prime with great access.

I had S3 and S4, seriously, i don't want to go back! Why should i have to carry an extra battery all the time and that's exactly what i had to do because it doesn't last half a day! If Samsung is doing so well why are they still making kiddish adverts?

The one element that has failed to be mentioned is that by far, iPhone users use the smartphone more each day than non iPhone users. Android and other phone users do NOT use the phone as much. Besides all the basic stuff such as email and social media stuff, iPhone users do a lot more even tho the none iPhone users can as well. I have a 5 and if I'm at the airport with 50%, I will charge because I will be using it solidly for the 2 hour wait. Either reading, surfing, posting, emailing, video editing and so on, then I can use it for another solid 2 hours on the flight, and have plenty of juice to connect to those who are picking me up. non-iphone users don't do as much with the phone. research has shown this.

I have no issue with battery on my iPhone 5S. But it would be nice if I could change the battery easily still. No way I would switch to Samsung because of this though.

Really? Not even in standby my iPhone consumes 30% in 6 hours......come on I like my iPhone 5 but can't deny that the battery is crap.....thanks God it charges really fast. Let's be realistic this battery is only 1,600 mah compared to my Note 3 3,000 battery.

It features the greyscale mode, and how much battery you can save with it, but 2 things: 1 - The iPhone too have a greyscale mode.. 2 - Most of the battery is from your celular carrier! just enable airplain mode, and wifi, and iPhone 5 will last you a 2.5 days on avarage usage, without greyscaling it!

I believe this ad is quite misleading. I have an iPhone 5 and it lasts all day on medium usage. I can say for sure that I know a couple of people with a samsung galaxy s4 who can barely last 4 to 6 hours and are connected to the charger most of the time. Not sure how good the galaxy s5's battery is but for a 1 year old phone (galaxy s4) to have a much shorter battery life than an older iPhone 5 is quite says it all.
