Apple has announced the iPhone will be available at Apple Stores in Canada for the first time.
iPhone is available at the Apple Retail Store. Now you can book a Personal Shopping appointment at the Apple Store when it's convenient for you. A Specialist will be waiting for you when you arrive.
The Apple Store will open early at 8:00am for those who would like to get their new phones a little earlier.

I wouldn't quite phrase it like that since you can already buy the iPhone 3G from the Apple Store in Canada.
This is the first time however they have launched a new iPhone in Canada and made it available at the Apple Store immediately.

Does it really matter? If you are not a qualified buyer, you have to fork over 699$ before tax! Apple store, fido/ rogers store. Same thing different place.
Is the iPhone really worth almost 800$?

but they fail to mention - it is moot point to purchase from apple for they do not know what kind of contract or upgrade you can receive - your telco is the only one that can really help you.. unless you want an out right purchase than a 2 day booking in advance with a high school kid who knows less than you is the right way to go. :)
