Apple will reportedly begin performing iPhone 5s screen replacements in its retail stores on August 4th, reports 9to5Mac.
Apple Store Genius Bars are said to have begun taking delivery of large quantities of iPhone 5s screens for the repair program. The crucial service’s debut is currently scheduled for Monday, August 4th. This upcoming rollout will mark an official launch as a few stores in the U.S. have piloted iPhone 5s screen repairs over the past several months.
Apple began performing in-store screen replacements on the iPhone 5c back in January. A screen repair costs $150.

$150???? That is a ripoff! I can do it for $80 and have been for my customers for the past 7 months!

How is that a rip off? The cost likely reflects the quality of parts and the professional service provided by Apple.

Soo, you want to pay 150 for something that can be done for 80$. The same quality and everything? This is exactly why Apple is so rich$$$

Maybe it's because of the screen strength, why would Apple hide anything? Samsung is the one that doesn't explain or show how their products work, neither does Microsoft.

Is the $150 price for the iPhone 5s screen replacement official? It seems like an important service for users who rely on their devices.

Just to set everyone straight... we at Apple put our valued customers first. We were disappointed that we could not offer the screen repairs at the start but we can now. We invested in training our geniuses to replace the screens and charge $150 for this service. This is a significant saving compared to buying a new $800 phone, resolving a dilemma for our customers.

Good. Customers badly need this service. Many have cracked screens and it's helpful that Apple is finally starting in-store replacements for the iPhone 5s.

What a deal for all these drop tests and those who threw money on it destroying the screen completely which may completely malfunction it.
