Vizzywig 4K App Enables 4K Video Recording on Your iPhone 5s for $1000

Vizzywig 4K App Enables 4K Video Recording on Your iPhone 5s for $1000

Posted September 15, 2014 at 12:19pm by iClarified
Vizzywig 4K is a newly released app for the iPhone 5s that enables 4K video recording, editing, and distribution.

Rather than capturing video, VZ4K captures full 4K resolution photos at the rate of 24 photos per second along with synched audio. It then allows you to edit, add 4K transitions, titles, scrolling credits and background music and upload straight to YouTube in full 4K.

So what's the catch? First, it requires an iPhone 5s with 32GB or 64GB storage capacity. Second, it requires iOS 7, which on September 17th will become an outdated OS. Third, and perhaps most prohibiting, the app costs a whopping $999.99.

The issue with iOS 8 appears to be the operating system's ability to take burst mode photos. The developer says the new OS is only capable of shooting 10 images per second. Hopefully, that will change in a future software update.

Since Vizzywig 4K captures frames using the full 8 MP sensor of the iPhone 5s, it captures at a rate of 72 MB/sec. If you are interested in this app, make sure you have plenty of space free.

You can purchase Vizzywig 4K from the App Store for $999.99.

such a BS, asking $1000 dollars for this app. All this shit app does is upscale the f*ing 1080 to 4k image. I wanna see it recording in 4K in RAW mode, only then it will earn my respect.

It doesn't upscale the HD Video, it is capturing 24 photos ( 8MP each photo) per second while recording the audio separately. After that it combine photos in to video which has 8MP (near 4k resolutions).

Guess they never heard of a gopro, or the other load of options for shooting 4k that are well below a grand... hell for round a grand you can get a Panasonic g series and shoot 4k all day

This makes it the MOST expensive app on the entire iStore (by a wide margin), and then you're still intimidated with ads. This was developed with a 1980s MS business model, which has collapsed over the last couple decades.

Horizon does 2K (not raw) and keeps things horizontal.

I while back I bought UltrakamPro. Amazing raw 3k videos. I probably paid it 10$ or so. Only problem is the space. A few minutes of shooting and you are out of storage. Since this app will have the same downside I don't think any professional or amateur videomaker would even consider buying this app for that kind of money. Especially because you buy it just for playing with it a few times and then never opening it again, as I did with ultrakam.

If this developer was smart he would have released this awhile back. Why now? Even if someone is actually interested or contemplating buying this why would they buy it now with iOS 8 and the new phones coming out. Most of the people that can spend a $1000 on a app will more than likely be upgrading their phones soon anyway. Unless they buy this and end up keeping their 5S for this purpose. But if they can afford to buy this app they can probably buy a real ultra HD/4K camera. Awesome idea, but bad timing.

It's actually genius the way this app works, price is effing ridiculous but it's a genius app, take photos instead of video cause it can take photos at a higher resolution than video and then also record audio at the same time as your taking the higher quality photos then stitch them together afterwards. Pretty sweet
