Just something else to go wrong with it. If someone steals your phone and really wants it they will just reset the firmware DUH!

I Would Assume the Fingerprint Reader would work weather your Finger is on your hand and attached or NOT!

Attached or not is irrelevant. No one is going to cut off fingers to read someone's sms or what ever data is on the phone. The idea of biometric security is to diminish the need to constantly input your password every time you access your Iphone. It is not necessary but it does make life easier. It replaces pin code security. I myself do not use pin code security because but would enjoy the functionality of the Iphone scanning my finger before it activates the springboard. It is not security but more as privacy. Obviously if someone steals the phone they would just power down and reinstall the firmware but the biometric security is not meant to thwart off this type of threat just as pin code security does not either.

Good post above.. I would like to see this feature along with the solar panel patient they filled a while back (if i'm not mistaken)
