The high-end Retina display iMac is faster than the low-end Mac Pro, according to updated benchmarks from Geekbench.
Yesterday, Primate Labs posted early 64-bit benchmarks for the i5 Retina iMac. Today those benchmarks have been updated for the Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz processor.
Notice that when compared to the Mac Pro, the iMac does best in single-core performance. However, when looking at multi-core performance the Mac Pro does best. The high-end iMac is only able to beat the low-end Mac Pro.
