This should have been passed around to inside jailbreak teams / Cydia programmers. IMHO not a public ready release. :(

Do you have to restore if you restore and when you want to get rid of the jailbreak (eg software update)

You can't yet they haven't released a english version yet this is for developers.
They still need to add cydia and some other stuff for a full working untethered jailbreak.

I've been waiting to update my iPhone 5S, I still must wait until Mac OS tool is released. Although iOS 8 has a lot of cool features, it still doesn't allow me the tweek of extra rows of icons & folder within folders.
The race is on - hopefully stable JB is out before Apple patches....

I dont trust this. Especially when i have 5 of my credit/debit cards stored into my iPhone 6 Plus, i wouldnt bother jailbreaking unless its from very reputable team. Pengu is still shady and too young to trust. And they are chinese with no public identification.

Pangu appreciates all the mindless retards that are going to use this jailbreak. First if your not a developer this is useless to you. Secondly these fools obviously don't have a strategy other than lets release first. The people that are going to download this are the same people that stand in a line for days for a phone and don't have a good reason to.
Call me what you want but your the idiot. I am a iPhone fan and I'm sending this from my iPhone 6 plus. I'm just saying recognize that one this is useless at the time. Secondly these fools are ruining your ability to actually get a jailbreak once ALL the bugs are removed from ios 8.

Device compatibility
According to Pangu’s website, Pangu for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 is compatible with the following devices:
iPod touch 5G
iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus
iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad, iPad Air, iPad Air 2 (we’re not entirely sure about the iPad compatibility here)

The Pangu jailbreak team has developed a nasty reputation for being less than reputable. They 'lift' other people's jailbreaks, and then apply them at the worst possible time simply in order to make a name for themselves.
Take this instance, they issues it now because the iPhone is now selling in China. However, by releasing now, they're almost guaranteeing the JB won't be available once the iPad Air 2 becomes available in China. Waiting several weeks would have helped thousands of people, but they aren't concerned with how many they hurt, just as long as they have their moment in the sun.
They should also have contacted Cydia and warned them they had a JB available in order to allow him to develop the features to use it, but again, they don't care whether anyone can use the feature, they just want to notoriety for releasing it.
Personally, I'd lock down all JB discussions so these creeps NEVER get access to new techniques. There are responsible practices, and then there's stealing the hard work of others before THEY have a chance to capitalize on it.

Dude no one was going to release for ios 8 they interviewed the evaders team and they basically said don't expect one from them ios has become too boring.. Pangu released it so stop complaining and enjoy it, wont be long till 8.1.1 comes out to stop it... Then people will complain that why are the devs being lazy and not jail breaking ios 8.1.x and so on.

Jailbreak is still useful. For instance:
Since there is still no multi-users log in for iDevices, how can I prevent someone playing some games all day long? Is there any single app lock up function in current iOS 8.1, as simple as passcode protection? No! That is why LockDown Pro is very useful on jailbreak devices.
How about notification center or lock screen? Can you put whatever notice there instead of being restricted by Apple?
I am sure there are many other cases that would make the iDevices more user friendly.

Here is how you prevent someone from playing games all day. Fire them. You can see what apps are using up battery power and that would let you know what they have been doing with their phone. Either way suit yourself. Doesn't seems like a good idea to me. And I've used jailbreaks from the beginning.

I wouldn't even consider an ios update without jailbreak, I'm sure many others feel the same. If Apple wants people to adopt their latest version they should be very happy this jb came out! Ios would be worthless without jb, just leave it Apple jb is a huge benifit to you.
Now if only they could find some way to force a horrible U2 album onto my device without my permission or consent.....

Reply · Like · Mark as Spam
iHaveabrain - October 23, 2014 at 3:05am
Yes but what happens when someone steals that card info from a local or online store then gets all the money you have in your account. Now you can get that back in 10 days but in the meantime you are broke and hopefully have a credit card you can make purchases of food or gas. I'm good I will use Apple pay and not be retarded buying things I know I don't need. If someone wants my info the will need to have a gun to my head or kill me and use my finger to purchase what they want.

Cool. I knew Pangu was coming. I love how they don't troll the JB community for months. Pangu just drop the JB out of nowhere. Now if they could work a little closer with Saurik on timing. Apple may throw a update out before cydia and substrate even get up to par.

Price in total to get it to market is $200. So Apple pockets $500. And don't give me excuses it's only $200. To manufacture and promotion is in that price also but as long as u fan boys buy Apple will keep high prices

lepaka - October 22, 2014 at 2:57pm
that is the production + logistic price, have you think about how much is spend for development? how may Headcount Engineers have Apple to bring it to the street? you have an idea how much time/money costs to do Prototypes and test them? and the failures, the ones that are never implemented or just changed because the try-outs failed? it is thousands of millions barred there in the silicone valley. without that you where never able to see the light of a good product ... or try to let it on the hands of the cheaper labour like China and India, then you can buy a lovely Huawei or a Sameshit

The flip phones are going cheap. The plans starts at 50 dollars a month with a 30 days insurance with a two year plan and a 30 dollar activation fee. Making you investment in a 2 dollar phone to a whopping 1250 dollars. If you lose the phone it's 150 to get a new one. The resell value..none..you couldn't give it away if you wanted to.

What's the point of doing this jailbreak if you can't use Cydia. Does anyone know what things you could do when you do this jailbreak because Cydia is main source where every tweak or hacks come from. ??? What can you do with this jailbreak without Cydia?
Reply · Like · Mark as Spam
umm - October 22, 2014 at 2:30pm
The Jailbreak developers need to update their packages so you can use them. Most end users need to wait for Cydia and pretty much every. single. other tweak to be updated by the respective developers. This is the first part that is essential to getting tweaks in your hands. Years ago, Saurik would work "next to" the jailbreak team to ensure compatibility upon release. This was before everyone started monetizing the jailbreak, though.

Grumpy Old Man - October 22, 2014 at 2:35pm
There is no "lol" here, China Dude. Of course I know those things, but I also know that the firmware is made by Apple under controlled circumstances, and the apps on the App Store are also routinely screened for malware and so forth. So that's not the same as downloading a jailbreak from anonymous hackers and loading up on apps from Cydia. Surely you see the difference.
