Apple maps still need work. This seems like a questionable move if you ask me. Not bashing Apple maps because I admit it did improve but still needs much more work.

I just checked and my phone is 1 mile from where its supposed to be. I zoomed in and my phone location moved closer to where its should be. I zoomed in more and getting more accurate but the half of the map is missing or not loading. Although it's closer to the location but I have no idea where because that spot is not rendering.

According to Apple maps, I was headed exactly to. Orthpark center and by the time I arrived there, the mark on the map was a few car spaces off. Even when I zoomed out, he dot stayed, took 3 seconds of map loading. No matter where I look from any marked spot or move from it, the dot always shows.

FoundiPhone...It is not the dot. The dot is your phone gps position. The map is not loading. What happened is the map area when the phone (dot) is not loading and I got just a grid line.

I use Apple Maps for navigation around San Jose California and it works very well. It looks much better and works better with my car audio system.
I guess as usual your mileage may vary...

What are they thinking? This is very concerning!

What were they thinking? They won't rely on another company to use the data. It's seeking for help. What else did you want it to be? Your comment is what's disturbing.

it's not necessary to brag whatever is possibly better and act like it's worshipped. To me, Apple maps works fine and not even one mislead direction or any loading issues. Not saying it's perfect than google maps. Both have their ups and downs just like phones. In general, nothing is perfect depending on how you want a product to be exactly but consumer wise.
