Spotify Aims to Bring 6 Million Songs to Your iPhone

Spotify, a music streaming service, has submitted its iPhone application to Apple for approval.

Currently only available in Europe, Spotify provides streaming access to over 6 million songs. The company has plans to reach America by the end of the year but they must first sign deals with copyright holders.

Spotify's iPhone application lets you create playlists of your favorite music for streaming and even choose to have entire playlists saved offline. The application has been submitted to the App Store for approval; however, there is some question as to whether Apple will approve it.


"It's going to be very interesting to see if Apple lets this through or sees us as competition - fingers crossed," said Spotify communications manager Jim Butcher.

Apple has a history of rejecting applications that provide similar functionality to services it offers, in this case iTunes.

I don't think is gonna make it! Especially because of the offline mode.

i use this all the time on my mac and pc will be good to see it on my iphone cant wait!!! hope apple dont say NO to it lol
