Apple to Update iPad Mini With A8 Chip, 802.11ac?

Apple may be planning to update the iPad mini with an A8 chip and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, according to Macotakara.

In addition, as a story of reliable information sources, while the unknown for iPad Pro of 12.9 inches, we are talking about that there is a possibility that the A8 chip and 802.11ac-enabled iPad mini 4 is added. However, it is, I do not know whether to be announced at this event.

Macotakara is unsure whether the new iPad will debut at Apple's upcoming 'Spring Forward' media event.

Apple last upgraded the iPad mini in October 2014; however, the new device just gained Touch ID for a premium of $100 leading to many user complaints. A faster processor and Wi-Fi chip would somewhat justify the higher price.

I agree with Really. With the iPad going (eventually) to 12.9" and the iPhone 6+ nearing the iPad mini's resolution, the mini really serves no essential purpose. And with a longer average upgrade schedule (i.e. buyers update iPads less often than the iPhones they use daily), I wouldn't expect many sales. Essentially, you get more bang by buying a phone. Except ... women with smaller hands can stash it in their purse instead of putting it in a pocket like most men do.
