Easy to understand, its Just marketing. In few months after the release date, Some company's will launch case with waterproof or even also apple will launch as well.

Macbook is made with decent coating that happens on purpose. Apple watch is twice as strong than that. So technically you don't need a case. It is scratch resistant which means it handles contact well.

Please, the curved lcd was dumber than this. At least cases protect against fall damage, but not sure about how necessary it is here.

How often do you drop your watch? The stand is good but who needs a case for their watch, especially since it covers it all up?
