Why Every New Apple MacBook Needs a Different Charging Port [Humor] [Video]

Posted March 20, 2015 at 7:31pm by iClarified
A video from College Humor spoofs the new MacBook introduction video to mock Apple's decision to once again change its charging port.

We can make a computer fit in an envelope, but I guess we’re still working out the kinks on the charger.

Take a look below. Please note the video may be NSFW, depending on your workplace. You can follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for more Apple news, tutorials, and videos!

MagSafe was f-ing genius. I was hoping for a MagSafe on the iPhone as well. I guess that hope is dead in the water. USB-C, dongles, hubs, rats nests are the future. Honestly, people gripe and moan about post Jobs apple, but im on board with them for this one.

You could say the MacBook Pro will still have magsafe along with many usb-c ports, heck it can be even thinner while still maintaining them compared to air shaped version of MacBooks, but also imagine the imac with being paper thing while having usb-c. I agree about what you said about magsafe, but Apple did that to usb so people could have more options like preeminent plug for charging.

Great video and sadly true.

How is this sad? It makes sense to make it thinner but improve it however it can be improved, plus that cube thing was done before but with ports.

I love how everybody start mocking the USB type-c port when Google released it prior to Apple with their laptop as well as Asus. Everybody jumps on Apple because, they're the best. I enjoy the parity, but at least make it a factual parity, that makes it funnier. This is only funny to those who don't know better.

It's like a hobby that wants to make themselves desperate of making the better company even more appealing because 1. They try to make a point against them like they're all better, 2. Most of the stuff they use to mock with doesn't come close, 3. Getting someone else's product in anything proves how much they care about the other.

Change for no f*cking reason? Oh the reason is to thin it out to fit but makin it better and make more options to whose who want newer or older chargers. Simplicity in the very best for humor people.

The new USB-C should be the last port change for a while, for this and other laptops. USB-C supports up to 100 Watts. (Also they call it the MacBook Air, when it's just the MacBook).

Do you know the meaning of satire? Apple will probably change the usb type c to their own proprietary charger that's 5% thinner than the current one, then when USB type D comes out that's 10% thinner they will change it again, there's no point in arguing with this funny but true satire of Apple, I love it

IIt's funny because of the parody, true because everyone does the thin the port but improve it projects.
