Alongside the release of iOS 8.3, Apple has released Apple TV Software Update 7.2. The company provided little information as to the contents of the update, just that it "includes general performance and stability improvements".
Just yesterday, HBO NOW launched on the Apple TV, making an HBO subscription available directly to Apple customers for the first time ever. After installing the new Apple TV software update, the What's New message says, "With HBO NOW, get instant access to all of HBO, including every episode of every season of the best original programming, hit movies, and more - no cable or satellite subscription required."
You can find direct links to download the new Apple TV firmware below. Alternatively, you can perform a software update from the Settings app on your device.
APPLETVnojailbreak...DevsGot other interests - April 8, 2015 at 7:21pm
I bought it hoping it will get a jailbreak eventually, sadly time passed and a jailbreak never arrived,so my Apple TV,with vanilla OS,outside U.S.,it's pretty much useless.Seems devs have no interest fot it,Too bad!
The main difference, and why I went with the 3rd despite it not being JB, is the 3rd is HD. The problem is the main JailBreakers grew bored with Apple TV, which they saw as being abandoned by Apple at the time, thus no one ever invested the time in jailbreaking it. Hopefully when Apple releases the new Apple TV, it'll be a more tempting JB target.
They could, but no one wants to invest the time. They don't see it as being enough as a draw to invest the time in jailbreaking. If it was JB, the devs would be available.
