Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that it is EMI who is to blame for the delay in the Beatles' music being available on iTunes, according to a 9to5Mac report.

Speaking to the NME, he said: “We were having problems with iTunes – well not iTunes, EMI was the problem – with downloading, which we'd like to do because that's how a lot of people get their music.”

McCartney also said that the band has sidestepped the problem by working on the new 'The Beatles: Rock Band' game, which will be released tomorrow (September 9) for the XBox 360, PS3, and Wii.

Ernesto Schmitt, EMI’s global catalog president, said: “Conversations between Apple and EMI are ongoing and we look forward to the day when we can make the music available digitally. But it’s not tomorrow."
