Check out this video comparing the speed of the iPhone 6s vs. Nexus 5X fingerprint scanner.

With the iPhone 6s, Apple improved the speed of its Touch ID sensor compared to the iPhone 6. You can watch a comparison video of that here. Will the Nexus be able to beat it?

I think what you all are missing is that the iPhone turned on the screen faster, when using the fingerprint scanner. However, the Nexus 5x gets you to the functional home screen faster, which seems more useful to me. That being said, the fraction of a second that sets these results apart is inconsequential in my day to day usage case.

Dumbest design ever: placing the fingerprint scanner at the back of the device. The timing should really include how quickly you can flip the device around.
